Position highlights

ICBC have embarked on a major corporate wide business transformation, reviewing processes and systems across all Divisions. We are looking for a highly motivated leader with excellent analytical and communication skills to work with the Transformation Business Analysis Services team in Victoria, BC.

As a Senior Business Advisor, you will be part of a divisional team of professional business analysts, project managers and testers focused on Driver Licensing. The Senior Business Advisor role will provide the opportunity to apply your strong leadership experience with strategic business analysis tools and techniques and project management knowledge to a complex and changing environment. You will use your senior business analysis skills and expertise to deliver business analysis services to a variety of medium and large complex government-requested and internal initiatives.

Your key accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of Business Analysts on large scale, complex projects; building strong teams, fostering positive team dynamics and developing talent;
  • Lead and complete industry standard business analyst deliverables plus impact assessments, and business case support deliverables;
  • Complete estimates, plans and monitor team status throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Facilitate large working sessions and meetings, with high competency for analytical thinking and the willingness to challenge conventional practices;
  • Build strong relationships that influence business outcomes; and
  • Support the evolution of the business analysis practice and champion the methods and techniques of the practice to customers and partners.

Position requirements

To make an immediate contribution in this demanding role you will have demonstrated your experience to be successful:

  • In a senior level business analyst role participating in strategic planning and developing future state business models;
  • Applying industry standard business analysis tools and techniques; estimating, planning and tracking work packages in a complex environment, and preparing cost benefit analyses and reporting;
  • Leading a team of 7+ people on large scale complex projects, and mentoring team members in business analysis practice and techniques;
  • Building strong working relationships and fostering positive team dynamics;
  • Facilitating meetings and applying strong problem solving skills; and
  • Presenting to a variety of audiences and preparing clear documentation.

Your experience will be supported with a formal qualification in a business discipline, and will ideally include a Business Analysis certification and experience working with Government departments and agencies.
