A full-time, permanent role for an experienced self-starter to program large enterprise applications

Victoria, BC

Applying your strong combination of technical troubleshooting and interpersonal skills, you will split your time evenly between programming and help desk/network maintenance functions. Ours is a small, close-knit team of IT professionals, so expect plenty of variety as you contribute where necessary to get the job done. You will provide programming for an in-house, comprehensive student records system, so any experience you have working in a K-12 educational environment would be beneficial. A self starter, you are always on the look-out for ways to help out our user base.

For you to be successful in this IT Programmer/Help Desk position, your skills must include:

  • Computer programming (PHP preferred)
  • Hardware troubleshooting
  • Windows OS troubleshooting (7 and 8 preferred)
  • Microsoft Office (2010 and 2013 preferred)
  • Basic network knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Ideally, you would also have:

  • Software requirement collection and business analyst skills
  • Help Desk experience
  • Software testing experience
  • Technical writing experience.

Bonus points if you can impress us with your experience in:

  • programming large enterprise applications
  • VMWare ESXi server administration
  • Linux OS administration (Ubuntu preferred).
