Job Summary: 

The Greater Victoria School District (SD61) is seeking a Software Developer who is proficient in developing and supporting web and desktop applications.

The Software Developer will report to the Manager of Information and Technology. This person will liaise with various stakeholders to identify business requirements, create specifications and develop software solutions to support and enhance school district goals and objectives.

Our goal is to create solutions that are modern, simplistic and user friendly. We are looking for a candidate who is excited about modern web technologies and approaches such as HTML5, CSS3, and Responsive Design. This candidate will also support our current application environment; which is predominantly C# applications but also includes some VB.NET.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of four years demonstrated experience in software development, at least one year in C#/.NET and VB.NET development, along with a Computer Science degree or equivalent education. Complementary skills in Microsoft SQL Server, WordPress/PHP, CSS, and JavaScript would be an asset along with experience with Agile methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills are a must.

This full-time position falls within the CUPE Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $32.06 per hour for a 35-hour work week, plus a comprehensive benefits package with flex days.
