The Victoria UNIT4 Development team carries out a wide variety of software development activities: the development of one major and several minor products within the Agresso product suite; the customization of the product suite for specific customers, at scales ranging from very small to enormous multi-year projects; and the adaptation of the standard product to US and Canadian requirements.

Job Summary: 

A QC Analyst is responsible for the quality of our products; the ideal candidate is passionate about software testing and has made this their chosen profession. You will be comfortable working alone and as part of a team with minimal supervision, be customer-focused, have a can-do attitude, excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing and executing tests cases to uncover defects and improve the overall quality of our software.
  • Reviewing requirements and solution design, providing feedback as needed.
  • Test individual system components: Client, Web, databases, APIs, utilities.
  • Triage and prioritize defects.
  • Plan and build effective test environments with useful test data.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to support the QC Team goal of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in shared learning with other team members.
  • Help to ensure that development project plans are achieved.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Skills Required

  • Attention to detail, reliability, creativity and curiosity are key qualities for this role.
  • Knowledge of test practices and methodologies.
  • Required communication skills: providing feedback to developers, assertiveness to stand up for quality, communicating with customers.
  • Experience using Agile and/or structured SDLC processes.
  • Experience in Windows environments.
  • Show persistence and look for alternatives when facing road blocks.
  • Have a commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering projects within budget.
  • Ability to estimate tasks.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiar with business processes in a variety of sectors, in particular: Finance/accounting, Logistics, HR, Payroll, Student Information Systems, Travel or Project Management.
  • Experience with SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation.
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
