Company Overview: 

At Reliable Controls we specialize in the design and manufacture of Internet-connected green building controls. We are currently seeking a Production manager in our head-office to manage our Surface Mount and Through-Hole production team.

Job Summary: 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Selection and hiring of employees.
  • Supervise and motivate the production team.
  • Production staff scheduling, coordination and assist VP of Operations with planning activities.
  • Senior technical support to assembly staff.
  • Technical updates for assembly documentation.
  • Verification and approval of technical instructions from engineering and assist engineering with manufacturability improvements and feedback.
  • Ensure engineering changes have been successfully implemented in through-hole (TH) and SMT.
  • Analyze product and employee quality reporting to develop action plans to solve & prevent failures,
  • Facilitate continual improvement of processes and products,
  • Ensure all maintenance schedules and processes for production machinery and equipment are followed as expected.
  • Meet or exceed quality control objectives for manufacturing team.
  • Ensure production employees are operating in a safe, positive environment.
  • Forecast staffing levels and report needs as required.
  • Meet with team routinely to communicate effectively with staff.
  • Productivity reporting reviews with staff.
  • Complete annual performance reviews with employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience (Must have):

  • A positive attitude is essential you will be managing our greatest asset,
  • Must have excellent people and team building qualities and skills!
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in electronic assembly industry,
  • Strong computer and analytical skills,
  • Strong technical knowledge in production and soldering,
  • Experience in quality control in an ISO 9001 environment,
  • Experience with production scheduling and planning,
  • Experience with both SMT and Through Hole processes and technologies,


  • Post secondary education in the area of electronics or manufacturing.
  • Management experience and training is required.

This position reports to the VP of Operations.
