Full-time Computer Technician

Island Savings currently has an opening for a full-time Computer Technician. Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Solutions and in collaboration with the Network Administrator, the Computer Technician is responsible for providing technical and consultative services to Information Systems and the rest of Island Savings’ user community in hardware and software installation and support.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Computer hardware and software configuration, installation and troubleshooting.
  • Installation and maintenance of other hardware including printers, scanners, IP phones, mobile phones, and digital signage systems.
  • End-user Support.
  • Standardization and compliance.
  • Contribution to Information Systems team.
  • Key accountabilities for timeliness, completeness and accuracy of services provided, as well as the quality of the member service delivered.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A university degree or technical school diploma in a related field.
  • 2-3 years’ of experience as a computer technician or in a similar role including some user support experience.
  • Proven experience with current Microsoft Desktop and Server software platforms.
  • Highly developed analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a challenging team-based production environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – ability to provide clear updates as well as to communicate needs in sometimes urgent situations.
  • Highly motivated and well-organized.
  • Able to achieve results working alone.

This is a full-time position however some flexibility in regards to scheduling and working after hours or on-call is required.
