Position highlights

ICBC’s Transformation Division provides strategic, tactical and operational support for the current and future business requirements of our Insurance, Claims, Drivers Licensing, Finance, Human Resources and Call Centre Business divisions.

Transformation has a challenging and dynamic opportunity for a Test Analyst to join the Victoria test team and support the Drivers Licensing division. This position works closely with Business Partners, Project Teams and the Test Team members in supporting business change.

As a Test Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing and coordinating test analysis services utilizing our established testing methodology, tools and techniques;
  • Supporting system and acceptance testing;
  • Applying best practices and processes;
  • Liaising with system developers, end users and interfacing departments to coordinate testing requirements and schedules.

Position requirements

To make an immediate contribution in this position, you will bring demonstrated ability to:

  • Apply the principles, practices and techniques applicable to systems and acceptance testing;
  • Apply the fundamentals of systems analysis and design to plan, coordinate and perform/implement systems and acceptance testing;
  • Adhere and contribute to effective test plans;
  • Review and assimilate substantial business and technical documentation;
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to analyze data, draw logical conclusions and make appropriate recommendations, as well as assess risk and recommend solutions;
  • Assess system deficiencies and identify solutions in the absence of established procedures or guidelines;
  • Work collaboratively building strong working relationships;
  • Communicate effectively in person and through clear documentation;
  • Use time management and organizational abilities to work effectively in a fast paced and changing environment;
  • Work at an intermediate to advanced level with MS Excel and MS Word.

Your current testing knowledge and experience will include Distributed/Web application, Client/Server application, and mainframe testing. Your experience is supported with a degree or diploma, or the equivalent technical experience. Testing certification will be an asset.
