BC Assessment is now searching for two dynamic people who are passionate about application design to join its team in the role of Lead Programmer Analyst.

In this important role, you will lead and coordinate application development teams in the application development lifecycle and in planning, designing, developing, testing, enhancing and maintaining mission critical applications of significant complexity and cost (i.e. multiple platforms, environments and technologies requiring integration of new and legacy systems)

Another essential component of this position is to meet pre-determined project timelines. You must be willing to exercise considerable latitude and use independent judgement and action in most programming and problem resolution matters.

You will also lead project teams including application developers, business area users and technical resources, and will work effectively in a team environment while organizing and setting your own priorities.

Finally, you will display your attention to detail by carrying out work to precise and established standards of accuracy and will be able to prioritize work coming from multiple clients.

In the first year, you can look forward to:

  • Getting visibility to our multiyear, high profile, corporate strategic projects
  • Assisting in designing the future of our applications towards a service oriented architecture
  • Leading the redevelopment of our legacy applications using C# and WPF or MVC

Education

  • A University degree in Computer Science
  • Preference for Microsoft Certified Technology Specialists (MCTS- .Net, Windows workflow foundation applications) or Oracle Certified Associates (OCA) and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialists (MCTS- SQL Server).

Experience

  • 4 years of practical programming experience
  • Experience in data modelling, process modelling, and/or business area analysis techniques
  • Experience in a broad number of application development tools

BC Assessment is now searching for a dynamic person who is passionate about application development to join its team in the role of Programmer Analyst.

In this important role, you will provide application development support services including coding, testing, maintaining and participating in small scale application development projects. These may vary from one day to a few weeks in duration.

You will be responsible for conducting user acceptance testing of new releases, and updating operational documentation, as well as monitoring the day-to-day performance of various applications.

It will be important in this role for you to actively and effectively participate on project teams, while demonstrating a keen ability to plan and organize your time.

Finally, you will display a high level of expertise in computer programming and demonstrate an understanding of new approaches to systems development, integration and implementation.

In the first year, you can look forward to:
