This senior-level administrative position provides executive-level support to the Associate Vice-President International. The position operates independently but under the supervision of the VPAC Office Manager, with day-to-day task assignment by the AVP International.
The Administrative Assistant will provide advanced organizational and administrative support to the Associate Vice-President International. The Administrative Assistant’s workload will include reviewing confidential and sensitive documents for accuracy and completeness, preparing documents, planning meetings, taking minutes, coordinating logistics and travel, and monitoring or supporting the flow of information through a complex environment. The Administrative Assistant will be interacting with individuals within government offices, universities or colleges, executive offices, decanal offices, contractors, faculty, staff, and students, on behalf of the Associate Vice-President International in advancing the University’s international priorities. This position will also work closely with the Provost on decanal and senior executive searches. This position also represents the Provost’s Office in ongoing communications and relations with senior internal and external stakeholders.
This position will also be responsible for back-up to the Administrative Assistant to the Associate Vice-President Academic position.
The ideal applicant will have completed a related post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree and have at least 3 years of senior administrative experience. Preference may be given to applicants whose experience includes working within an educational or government environment. Experience working with confidential information and sensitive issues as well as experience and proficiency using standard office technology and equipment is required. International experience or expertise preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, experience and training may be considered.
