Job Summary: 

Red Brick Media is looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead our Victoria team. You will be providing proactive HR business services and will collaborate with the management team to encompass all HR functions. Emphasis will be on talent acquisition and employee retention. Internal processes are also needed to ensure scalability.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, ambitious self-starter that takes initiative to be a forward thinker in human capital. You will take great pride in your work and your impact on the team dynamics. The HR Manager must have the Emotional Intelligence to handle sensitive matters with discretion and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Reporting to and supporting our Founders to ensure that the employee experience is aligned with our culture and goals, you will also act as the “go to person” for employees and management and as the point of contact for all HR matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior level HR support and guidance in the areas of: employee relations, compensation, performance management, employee training and development, engagement, recruitment and retention

  • All details around talent acquisition including and not limited to creating job descriptions, posting on various sites, managing applicants, interviewing, hiring, announcements, onboarding and training

  • Assess, develop and implement HR policies and best practices

  • Facilitate employee development programs

  • Assist managers with setting performance goals, conflict management and team building

  • HR research, analysis, and reporting

  • Coaching and supporting managers during times of organizational change

  • Support employees to address concerns and to facilitate discussions as required

  • Responsible for formal staff performance reviews

  • Research, provide management with recommendations and manage the annual salary review process and recommendations for promotions and salary increases, commissions and bonuses.

  • Oversee benefits process

  • Act as Red Brick Media’s brand ambassador at external networking events

  • Fostering a positive work culture

  • Completing various projects assigned to support the company

Experience and Skills:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field is a preferred qualification / CHRP certified or be working towards certification

  • At least 3+ years’ experience as an HR Manager in a tech environment

  • Experience managing a growing team

  • Good working knowledge of BC Employment Standards Regulations and Labour Laws

  • Strong understanding of compensation and benefits administration

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a high paced environment

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation and coaching skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and prior HRIS experience (Tribe HR)

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, excellent judgment and confidentiality

  • Possess strength in building effective relationships amongst all levels of the company

  • The ability to work independently: self-motivated with a strong work ethic

  • Above all, an approachable demeanor and all around positive attitude
