Reporting to the Director of the Project Delivery Management, the Project Manager – Project Methodology and Compliance will work as a part of the core Project Delivery Office team. The Project Manager will plan, organize and control all activities associated with the established project methodology lifecycle including, but not limited to, project documentation and methodology surrounding Project Approvals and Management, Privacy and Security, Quality and Safety, Human Resources, Business Systems and Change Management.

Job Summary: 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate as an active PDO team member providing support to the entire project portfolio on system implementation projects. This support includes the following:
  • Project Methodology Delivery: Ensure all Projects Teams are Knowledgeable In and Follow the Current Iteration of Project Methodology in use.
  • To support the Island Health project teams in care delivery transformation and other strategic initiatives that support  the strategic goals of Island Health
  • To support in the project teams’ planning , management and execution of challenging project Go-Lives (applications and solutions) of low to high complexity while ensuring overall support needs are met
  • Oversee project teams in their delivery and help execute activities on time
  • Ensure that project information and status updates are accurate and timely
  • Monitor all project teams in their methodology based deliverables, achievements & report on their performance
  • Compliance: Business or Clinically Specific Materials – Review and Oversight
  • Create standards of compliance for business and clinical projects
  • Review and approve business and clinical area material for adherence to compliance standards
  • Monitor usage/revision of business and clinical area approved material
  • Review critical business areas processes for improvement and/or compliance with project methodology, compliance, principles and standards
  • Be knowledgeable of business and clinical area regulatory developments, requirements
  • Communication: Business/Clinical Area Communication and Co-Operation
  • Oversee the interactions, processes and co-operative  work between the project teams and the business and clinical area to ensure compliance with regulatory/methodology requirements
  • Meet with business and clinical area leadership along with respective project teams to review documentation and deliverables for concerns of impact or risk

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills required to gain alignment with various technical, clinical, and business groups
  • Facilitation skills in planning, troubleshooting, support issues or requirement and scoping issues.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate across teams
  • Capacity to assign priorities to multiple competing and important activities quickly and effectively
  • Possesses extensive practical experience in application solution delivery

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Health Information Science or PM Graduate Degree or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies / IT industry

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5  years’ experience delivering enterprise IT projects, consideration  in IT/ Health, including projects with Electronic Health Record components.; familiarity with LEAN Design principles is an asset
