The Director of Product Management is responsible for the product planning and lifecycle management for a large portfolio of products that serve various environmental monitoring and telecommunications markets.
This position will work with rest of the Senior Management Team to set product directions and formalize product roadmaps; triage and prioritize emergent issues; plan and communicate product launch activity; serve as a customer advocate to the Engineering, Sales and Production teams; provide clear financial analysis and plans for the execution of the product roadmap; and ensure that customer expectations will be met or exceeded by promoting customer-focused design principles throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will work closely with an engineering counterpart to define product requirements and release schedules; and liaise with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. The ideal candidate will also serve as the internal and external product evangelist, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.
This person understands the need to travel up to 25% of the time in order to really get to know our products and customers. Equipped with a passion for smart technology and a competitive, dynamic personality, the right candidate will “wow” FTS’ customers with the next best product.
The ideal candidate brings an MBA or Bachelors degree with equivalent and demonstrable experience; plus at least three years of recent, related experience ideally in hardware marketing/product management experience. Demonstrated project management experience is essential, as well as experience managing clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Ideally, the right candidate will also bring experience with low-power hardware systems; an understanding of environmental monitoring; and experience in the high-tech manufacturing environment.
