Job Summary: 


As an innovative leader, you guide and mentor a team of database professionals who are responsible for the technical management of the databases and underlying operating systems environments that ensure corporate information is stored and managed in a manner that is safe, secure, correct and readily available. You oversee the operational support for all Oracle and Sybase servers and provide Oracle application server support (Weblogic and Fusion middleware servers).

You are responsible for operational planning, conducting data security investigations and ensuring that application access is consistent with goals of performance and security, including data encryption and archiving. You oversee the implementation of security monitoring procedures, manage service providers, analyze incident trends and perform problem management through root cause analysis. You work closely with other Team Leads and their technical teams to ensure delivery of database services within the performance targets and timelines set.

You are an excellent communicator and negotiator and you manage conflicts and handle stressful situations with ease. You have the proven ability to develop and implement policy and to effect change within an organization using knowledge of best practices.  You have experience with installation, configuration and tuning of Oracle RAC databases, and a strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models (High Availability and Disaster Recovery options) combined with extensive experience in performance tuning. You have Solaris/Linux experience with strong scripting knowledge.

You have a degree or diploma in Computer Science or other IT related discipline along with a minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in a technical/analytic role within a systems development organization. Oracle Professional Certification would be considered an asset.
