Job Summary: 

The successful applicant will work with a senior hardware engineer, external contract design personnel, an electronic technologist and a team of software engineers and product specialists. We are a small development team where everyone’s ideas are used to make the best products possible.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an Electronic Design Engineer to design new audio products and to manage the release of engineering documentation to the manufacturer. Responsibilities will include:

  • Design of mixed signal systems incorporating USB, SPI, I2S, DDR2, SDRAM, DC-DC converters, Flash Memory, analog filters, LCD Displays, microphones, loudspeakers, micro controllers, ARM processors and Freescale DSP technologies.
  • Using DxDesigner schematic capture software.
  • Working with industrial designer to create physical design.
  • Directing PCB layout designer.
  • Adjusting PCB layout using PADS layout software.
  • Working with EMC test lab to adjust designs to pass EMC compliance.
  • Supporting software engineers by ensuring operation of target hardware.
  • Verifying electronic circuits using oscilloscope, multi-meter and PC based audio testing equipment.
  • Debugging the design and electronic assembly of prototype electronics.
  • Building experimental circuits and testing.
  • Supporting manufacturing contacts in Denmark, China and Thailand.
  • Reviewing mechanical drawings.

Qualification Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ year experience designing digital/analog circuits.
  • Experience designing with electronic systems such as application processors, digital baseband, memory systems, PMIC, audio systems, display/touch systems, camera systems, or high speed interface (USB/HDMI/DSI/CSI).
  • Experience in designing for CE standards compliance.
  • Hands on experience with oscilloscope and basic test equipment; strong lab verification and debugging capability.
  • Experience with EDA tools.
  • Managing documentation of product development from design to production to ECO processes.
  • Experience developing project plans and following them through.

Qualification Preferences

  • Design of mixed signal audio products.
  • RF experience including WiFi and Bluetooth.
  • Active Loudspeaker design experience.
  • Background in music production, performance or engineering- professional or as a hobby.

Time Requirements

  • Full time employment, 40 hours/week.
