Job Summary: 

This is an exciting opportunity to join CGI, a world-class IT company, for a permanent position in Victoria BC to provide leading IT services to our local clients. We are seeking senior level QA Analyst with a minimum of five years of experience working within the IT field.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist QA Manager/Project Manager with management, design and development of end-to-end project testing effort (including, but not limited to, functional, system, integration, and regression testing), reporting and escalation
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on testing activities,
  • Responsible for creation, execution and review of project Test Cases, Scripts and Test Reports
  • Provide assistance in the test effort estimation for test case design, development and test execution
  • Ensure coverage of testing as per the functional and non-functional requirements (requirements traceability)
  • Work closely with Build and Infrastructure teams to ensure that the test environments are setup and ready for test execution
  • Ensure Test Data Requirements are defined
  • Follow complete testing lifecycle and ensure detailed defect reports are logged into the test management tool, defects are retested and closed.
  • Provide effort estimates for assigned work packages
  • Work on various projects that require extensive client interaction
  • Participate in walkthroughs and reviews, as needed
  • Raise issues and risks on a timely manner and help identify mitigation plans
  • Participate and/or Facilitate daily test defect review meetings and coordinate the implementation of defect resolutions across the various processing components/applications
  • Prepare and provide test status updates (test progress reports, metrics, etc) from the QA perspective
  • Ensure entry/exit criteria for each test phase is fulfilled
  • Work with QA Manager to provide recommendations based on best practices and help implement test solutions
  • Support to client testing activities (UAT, ORT, etc.)

Key qualifications:

  • Computer Science / Computer Engineering Degree or related discipline or work experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years testing experience in a product or project based development environment is required
  • Experience in functional and non-functional testing of Web-based, middleware applications, web-services (SOA) and XML is mandatory
  • Strong PL/SQL (database) skills an asset
  • Strong understanding of test processes and methodologies required
  • Solid bug tracking and test reporting skills
  • Strong hands on experience with Test Management tools, including but not limited to, HP Quality Center
  • Quality or testing certification(s) (e.g. CSTE, CSTM), experience with IEEE testing standards and methodology preferred
