We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join our energy sales team. In this role, you’ll focus on business development of our energy vertical, working with our oil, gas, pipeline, and renewable energy customers. This is a key role on our sales team focusing on a significant market for our business.

We’re seeking someone that has a gift for building and maintaining strong relationships with an aptitude for sales. In this role, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle, including planning/forecasting, prospecting, relationship management and closing. You’ll identify and develop the most compelling new opportunities for our technologies as well as advance the use of our technologies in existing accounts and partner relationships.

We’re looking for someone with excellent customer facing skills, strong technical aptitude and experience selling enterprise software solutions. This is a great opportunity for someone that thrives in a competitive and dynamic environment with an overwhelming drive to succeed.


This position can either be based at our headquarters office in Victoria, BC, or remotely in Houston, TX or Denver, CO (home office set-up). 

Accordingly, applicants must have valid Canadian or US work authorization and the ability to travel cross border.


  • Working with other members of our Energy Sales team, drive the business development of our energy vertical, working closely with our customers in the oil, gas and pipeline industries 
  • Identify compelling new opportunities for our technologies as well as advance the use of our technologies in existing accounts and partner relationships
  • Develop and implement a sales plan to work a territory
  • Contact prospects to present our value proposition and qualify their interest
  • Listen to customers to discern their unique business challenges
  • Identify solutions to solve the right customer problems and understand how our technology can best augment their business
  • Develop proposals and presentations to meet expressed and perceived customer needs; liaising with technical resources as necessary
  • Build and maintain professional relationships within customer organizations
  • Close software product and services sales working by and with our teams to ensure on-time delivery and overall customer satisfaction
  • Record all customers/prospect communications and maintain our opportunities relationship management (CRM) database
  • Collaborate with our Marketing team to develop programs and initiatives
  • Provide feedback to our Products team regarding general customer requirements for future product releases 


  • Proven ability to sell with 5+ years of enterprise software sales experience in a technical field
  • Experience in the energy industries developing business relationships with large clients and customers    
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to various audiences from the C-suite to technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new market opportunities

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment  
  • Ability to thrive working independently and as part of a collaborative team environment 
  • Highly competent using automated sales tools such as MS Office and CRM applications such as SalesForce
  • Bachelors or Masters in GIS, geography or a petroleum/pipeline-industry related field, or equivalent experience, is desirable
  • Knowledge of GIS, geomatics industry, and Internet mapping is desirable
  • This position requires extensive travel (up to 50%) primarily in the US
