Job Summary:

You may be just the person that we are looking for! We are on the search for an experienced Software Development Manager to join our growing team.

We are seeking a manager who has experience leading a team in a fast paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be someone who is able to oversee the technical design and development team to create new systems and features, launch them, and incrementally make them better! We are looking for a leader who can bring creativity and innovation to their work and who can inspire others to do the same. Our ideal candidate will be a systems thinker, a proactive leader, and team player.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ability to work with management team to set organizational priorities
  • Work closely with the product team to carry out projects and ensure projects meet organizational objectives and requirements
  • Monitor and manage projects and keep team on track; mitigate project shortcomings
  • Designs and oversees solutions for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements
  • Understands the broader business context around their area and develops architecture and influences implementation to support it
  • Deal hands on with production and development environment issues
  • Ability to quickly react to business needs and re-prioritize tasks
  • Raise strategic issues to management when appropriate
  • Organize meetings and prepare project status and change reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equal experience
  • 3+ years of experience in software development management, including managing multiple project simultaneously
  • Has a strong background in Agile development methodologies including using Scrum for developing and sustaining complex products
  • Experience in architecting and deploying test, build and deployment systems
  • Implementation experience with one or more web development languages, methodologies and/or architectures
  • Experience designing for large scale, highly available, fault tolerant data management systems in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and experience leading an existing and talented development team
  • Ability to manage SR&ED claims
  • Intimate knowledge of internet technologies, thorough understanding of eCommerce, online marketing, web analytics and security
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills paired with excellent presentation skills
  • Experience managing projects of different sizes and projects at different stages
  • Experience in problem solving, process and project improvement, and business re-engineering methods
