Island Health is currently looking for an experienced Systems Administrator – UNIX for this new full-time position in the COS Enterprise Technical Services department.
The Systems Administrator provides support to the Enterprise Services Team with day-to-day operational and technical delivery and support of Redhat Enterprise Linux, HP-UX as well as Solaris based operating systems services. You will work independently and receive your day-to-day direction from the Specialist, UNIX Hosting Services, the Senior Systems Administrator.
Responsibilities include: analysis, development, implementation, and maintenance of the operating systems as well as related layered product software and hardware. This effort includes responding to Service Desk incidents as well as strict adherence to Island Health’s ITIL-based Change Management policy and processes.

Along with your degree or diploma in Computer Sciences, you have 3 years experience in a recent related role. Your background demonstrates your strong communication and organizational abilities. (A combination of education, training and experience may be considered)
