Job Summary: 

AXYS Customer Service is responsible with providing its customers with both technical and non-technical support, and is committed to deliver the highest level of customer service for all AXYS products.  Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Technician will have a mandate to provide technical support to customers for AXYS related products and services. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Technical support to customers, document each case with the company CRM, ensure all cases are completed to customer satisfaction.
  • Product Repairs: Perform in-house repairs or upgrades to AXYS products under the RMA process.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce technical bulletins, technical reports or work instructions as required. 

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge of electrical circuitry and data logging technology
  • Knowledge of communication systems: Radio Links (VHF, UHF), Satellite telemetry (INMARSAT, Iridium, GOES), Cellular, Bluetooth
  • Knowledge of communication protocol (TCP, Serial-RS232/422, USB)
  • Experienced with Remote Environmental Data Collection Systems
  • Experienced with digital and analog sensor technologies
  • Skilled with reading engineering diagrams
  • Experienced understanding environmental data with respect to system performance
  • Apply engineering process when diagnosing and troubleshooting complex systems, and apply best practice testing procedures
  • Skilled with mechanical assembly
  • Knowledge of computer software and database
  • Produce high quality technical documentation  
  • Comfortable and thrive in a demanding role and multi-tasking environment, where priorities change continually and deadlines are critical
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Analytical mind, highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Adept at working with Customer Relation Management (CRM) systems
  • Adept at working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Adept at working with Document Management systems 

Skills Requirements:

  • Technologist or equivalent form of technical/electronics certification
  • Knowledge or training in ISO9001-2000
  • Experienced in working in a fast paced manufacturing and technology environment
  • MS Office
  • Knowledge of ocean science and/or remote monitoring system (desired)
