Job Summary: 


CityView is seeking a Sales/Account Executive to join our team. 

The Sales/Account Executive will sell to both existing customers as well as grow the customer base in their territory. S/he will sell the entire CityView solution portfolio to local government enterprises, integrating departments and information.  S/he will have an annual sales quota of $1.25 million and will be expected to bring at least 60% of that in new name business. 

The selected individual will be a reliably independent, self-starter who takes ownership and accountability over marketing and selling solutions into your territory.  The incumbent will:

  • Develop and execute regional territory sales and marketing plan.
  • Proactively market and sell the CityView suite of solutions and services, engaging prospective customers throughout the sales life cycle from prospecting through in-depth software demonstrations to coordinating the contract negotiation.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute targeted prospecting activities and events to drive leads.
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of RFP responses for the territory, with particular attention to detail and an alignment of the offering with prospect needs. 
  • Plan, develop and perform compelling software presentations to diverse audiences, ensuring their individual needs are met and questions are answered at or after the presentation.
  • Keep diligent, transparent and up to date sales activities records in the sales CRM.
  • Forecast bookings and expenses realistically.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to ensure sales targets are consistently and sustainably met.
  • Participate actively in national and regional conferences and user group meetings.
  • Understand the importance of “responsible sales” and conduct business with exceptional standard of ethics.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with peers and customers.
  • Stay involved with the customer after the sale to ensure customer satisfaction.


Qualified candidates will have:

  • an understanding business process management technology
  • exceptional knowledge of the day to day business activities and challenges felt by local government employees
  • the depth of product knowledge and presentation skills to draw the audience across the bridge of uncertainty about where and how the product can make their lives easier
  • a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Previous software sales experience in markets with long sales cycles, preferably local government or state, is a plus.
