Company Overview:

Hundreds of organizations around the world rely on Geocortex software by Latitude Geographics to design, develop and maintain web-based mapping applications. We believe geographic information over the web can empower people to make better decisions about their lives, society and the world around us. You can help us make a difference.

Job Summary:

We’re looking for a new member to join our small but dynamic Training Team—someone who will take the lead in revamping our existing offerings and lay a new foundation for training at Latitude. You will use your knowledge of instructional design to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional and performance improvement materials. You will work collaboratively with members from a variety of teams to design training that will be delivered through multiple channels: on-demand, Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) and classroom. You will also need to maintain training courses and materials and possess the communication and presentation skills to deliver training.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be detail-oriented, skilled in video and audio production tools, flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.

Training delivery

  • Deliver quality, technical training sessions, virtually and in person, to small and large groups, for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Simplify complex ideas and vary presentation methods for different audience levels.
  • Motivate and encourage students.

Instructional design and development

  • Become a Geocortex product suite expert.  You will receive training within your first month.
  • Evaluate each products learning needs and in collaboration with the Training Team, contribute to the Geocortex curriculum roadmap.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other key stakeholders, to gather and verify relevant content for training modules.
  • Use modern instructional design techniques, design and develop training content, in a variety of formats including graphics, audio, video, and animation/simulation technologies.
  • Create task analyses, course plans, demo scripts, video sequences, assessments, online interaction and exercise guides for new and existing products.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the technical training team, both remote and on-site.
  • Manage multiple projects from start to finish; on time and within budget.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience designing, developing and delivering training materials, for both technical and non-technical audiences, using instructional design methodologies, adult learning theory and application, and e-learning technologies.
  • Experience developing and delivering content suited for multiple-delivery channels (on-demand, VILT and classroom).
  • Experience interviewing stakeholders and subject matter experts at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience successfully managing multiple training projects from start to finish; on time and within budget.
  • A technical understanding of Windows systems administration and agile software development practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Connect, HTML, XML, Moodle or similar tools.
  • Dedication as a well-organized, collaborative and self-directed team player.
