Job Summary: 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator – Storage for this full-time position in our Technology Services Department. Imagine your life's work in our piece of paradise!

In this role, you act as a senior resource primarily providing operational and technical delivery of Storage Area Network services, as well as Unix Administration duties. You provide support to the Enterprise Services Team with day-to-day operational and technical delivery and support of all of Island Health's data storage requirements including the overall responsibility for backup and restore services and the occasional Unix backfill responsibilities.

Additionally, you will provide analysis, development, implementation, and maintenance of all storage sub systems as well as related layered product software and hardware.  This effort includes responding to Project Requests, Service Desk incidents as well as strict adherence to our ITIL-based Change Management policy and processes. Provides work direction to other staff including Programmer Analysts.

Required Skills

Ideally, you have at least 3 years experience following graduation from a recognized degree or diploma Computer Sciences program. Your recent experience should include areas such as project management, system analysis, design programming, and the use of a formal systems delivery methodology. You are able to write in a variety of programming languages such as Perl, Shell Script, C, VMS DCL. Your background demonstrates your good communication and organizational skills.  (A combination of education, training and experience may be considered)
