Job Summary: 

We have a fabulous opportunity for a seasoned accounting administrator with a background working in a private company environment, and ideally with payroll experience, to join our growing company.

Reporting to the Director, Finance and Administration, this position is responsible for hands-on management of the company's accounting functions, as well as a variety of other critical services such as payroll, benefits, taxation, sales support and banking, on behalf of FTS.

As a detailed-oriented professional, you will enjoy a variety of work in any given day, and an opportunity to liaise regularly with all departments as well as with vendors, customers, suppliers, banks, auditors, etc. There is 'never a dull moment' in this rewarding position!

You bring a solid background to this position including:

  • Minimum five years general accounting and payroll experience - ideally with a similarly-sized company.
  • Achieved, or working towards, a professional accounting designation, (CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with ERP or Software Accounting Systems.
  • Excellent Excel and Word skills.
  • Ability to work independently with special attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Membership in the Canadian Payroll Association (or eligibility for membership).

Ideally, you also bring experience processing payroll in a multi-jurisdictional environment; in an HRIS environment; and we would prefer if you have had some supervisory experience.
