Job Summary: 

Summary

Reporting to the Marine Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Representative is responsible for developing and managing the opportunity pipeline. Drawing from insight gained from daily direct customer contact, the role will require building and executing on the entire process for opportunity management. To perform successfully in this role, the Inside Sales Representative will be customer and sales-focused as a top priority. Development and execution of the opportunity management process will require collaboration with the Marine sales team, distributors, reseller partners end customers, as well as internal stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prioritize new customer / existing customer and new opportunity / existing opportunity efforts.
  • Manage opportunities being driven by distributors and / or outside sales.
  • Identify and contact targeted new end customers.
  • Advance opportunities through the sales pipeline and vet stalled opportunities.
  • Work with CS, and Marine sales teams to develop CRM process for pipeline management and reporting.
  • Initiate and work with Marketing for development of direct sales tools and marketing efforts.
  • Assist with execution of marketing campaigns.

Skill Requirements

  • Business university degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with distributors, partners and customers, with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Strong internal company and external customer communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable in dealing with customer’s senior management as well as front line technical staff.
  • Possess an ability to build and maintain a strong level of knowledge on products, customer needs and services.
  • An understanding of the competitive marketplace.
  • High proficiency with CRM and/or ERP systems.
  • Industry experience an asset.
