Job Summary: 

Java Developer with strong Java experience for implementing specialized software for resource-based industry in a large scale enterprise environment. General responsibilities: development, design and implementation of Web-based Java applications. 

The successful candidates will provide specialized technical knowledge to projects and requires strong software development experience in using Java-based technologies (J2EE, Spring framework, Tomcat, Eclipse, Ant build scripts, etc.). 
There are two permanent full time positions, located in Victoria.

Education and Experience

  • Strong academic background. University degree (Computer Science or Engineering preferred) or proven record of acquired knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years experience with web applications in Java, including technologies such as web services, J2EE, SOAP, REST, XML/XSLT, HTML5, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with user interface development, both in the web and desktop worlds
  • Experience with building new software (architecture and design work
  • Self-starter; works well with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of the resource industries (oil and gas, forestry, mining) would be a distinct advantage or a plus
