Job Summary: 

FTS has an outstanding opportunity for an Electronics Technologist to join our Operations team.

We are looking for an Electronics Technologist or experienced Technician who ideally has experience in a high-tech, remote monitoring or similar environment.  This position works directly with and proactively supports our sales team, product management staff and other great FTS employees, essentially controlling the nucleus of our products and services.  The Electronics Technologist focuses on system installation, servicing, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, configuration, system integration and other related activities. 

The right candidate will bring demonstrated excellence in quality fabrication, integration and testing of remote environmental monitoring systems. Other skills include good manual dexterity, high reliability soldering, strong mechanical aptitude and good computer knowledge. 

The right candidate enjoys interacting with people, is a strong team player, and is a natural when providing excellent customer relation skills.  A willingness to travel on short field assignments would be an asset.

We will provide a comprehensive training program and give you as much responsibility as you are ready for, helping you grow into more challenging positions.


  • Be the primary resource for servicing products or the manufacture, integration and testing of FTS products;
  • Provide both hardware and software technical support to FTS customers and employees;
  • Follow quality system controlled processes, complete test and job listing records within the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system; and
  • Be willing and able to travel on fieldwork assignments if required within North America.
  • An electronics technologist qualification or equivalent, or;
  • An electronics technician qualification with a minimum 3 years recent, related experience in a similar industry;
  • Experience in product testing and electronic system integration;
  • Experience working with ERP Systems – ideally with EPICOR enterprise resource planning system;
  • Demonstrated track record of performing diligent and accurate work;
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills;
  • Strong understanding of computer systems and database use;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail when communicating both orally and in writing;
  • Good manual dexterity, high reliability soldering, and strong mechanical aptitude;
  • Knowledge or training on ISO9001 based quality management systems is desirable; and
  • Display a professional and customer focused approach to technical support.
