Job Summary: 

As a nimble, gritty and roll-up-your-sleeves Scrum Master you will help ensure the IT team works as efficiently as possible by removing any roadblocks to progress and facilitating daily Scrum meetings. Based out of our stunning North Saanich location, the role requires you to own the Scrum process, creating a balance with key stakeholders of projects. The position will also be responsible for sprint planning and demonstrations, maintaining relevant metrics to identify how to improve the team’s efficiency and effectiveness. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Interface with personnel and product owners on an active basis to manage product backlog and sprint activities 
  • Liaise between developers/testers and business units; foster quality communication 
  • Ensure product quality and timeliness of efforts
  • Assuming responsibility as required to ensure the successful and timely resolution of key issues/tasks

Your story:

  • Post-Secondary degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent work experience
  • Experience as a Project Manager would be considered an asset
  • You have 3+ years-experience in managing or performing IT development projects
  • You have the ability to identify and manage risk
  • Experience using Agile Scrum methodologies would be considered an asset
  • You have strong leadership and organizational skills with excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, project planning, people and team building skills
  • Project management skills are an asset with a demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and negotiations on deliverables, timelines and setting up a plan
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with an excellent understanding of system development methodologies
  • Able to work in a self-directed environment, with the ability to multitask and deal with situations that may involve some ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - in both technical and non-technical environments
  • Strong presentation and training skills/experience
  • Ability to liaise with various business stakeholders, all the while having an "of service" attitude to all
