Job Summary: 

Role and Responsibilities:

The Supervisor will manage a team of information systems professionals as well as provide senior level expertise in all areas of the Application Infrastructure, including initiation and delivery of projects; designing and building application environments; evaluating systems for performance and capacity; tier 3 escalation and reviewing distributed Enterprise application designs to select appropriate operational support strategies and to ensure efficient use of resources.  The Supervisor will also manage project and operational budgets and work with various stakeholders across the company.    S/he will evaluate and make recommendations to the IS Architect and Technology Manager on current and future software and hardware requirements as well as develop proposals for and implement approved system enhancements.  This position will lead/drive design, development, implementation, and support of both in-house developed applications as well as packaged applications and  will work closely with (a)  business and business analyst teams, (b) vendor partners, (c) internal infrastructure,  project management, QA, security, and other teams.   The Supervisor will be responsible for staff recruitment and employee performance management and evaluation of contract service provision.

Education and Technical Requirements:

  • University degree in computer science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seasoned management/supervisory experience in an information systems environment
  • Significant experience/expertise in designing and developing reports
  • Seasoned experience providing support for ERP applications in an Oracle production environment
  • Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in IT and IS analysis & applications delivery, maintenance, and project management.
  • Strong knowledge with Oracle 9i, 11g, and 12c
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL server an asset
  • Experience with the following would be an asset: Linux, Discoverer, Toad, SQL and JD Edwards
  • Strong technical best practices knowledge - integration architecture; business solutioning; product analysis & implementation; design & development, SCM, migration, deployment standards and best practices; system performance & maintainability best practices, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills required.
  • Basic level proficiency with Scripting (VB script, eScript, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Linux operating systems.
