Job Summary: 

Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to complement our training and implementation team. You must be capable of mastering and delivering all existing and future course content and materials for our flagship product, CityView. You will be taking an active role in identifying and documenting customer requirements and configuring the software to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved. You will interact with our clients on-site, on-line and over the phone so you have excellent communication skills, are positive and energetic. The position requires being away from the office an average of 2 weeks each month, training at various sites across North America. Some weekend travel is also required. An enthusiastic, team oriented individual, you are dedicated to providing outstanding customer service, have a knack for details and thrive on working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Mastering this role involves a steep learning curve, so you must be able to master new concepts and a large amount of technical and business process detail in a short space of time.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Train a variety of courses applicable to the project implementation, including initial “data collection” type training, validation training, end user training, configuration training and report writer training.
  • Become an expert on the functionality and capabilities of the software, making enhancement requests to our product development team when appropriate.
  • Define and analyze client business requirements; interpret and apply information within the scope of the project.
  • Work with Data Conversion Specialist to achieve smooth transition of legacy data.
  • Work with Project Managers to balance the needs and requirements of clients within the constraints of project budgets.
  • Configure the software with business rules to allow clients to conduct their business processes.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and resolve client issues throughout the implementation process.

Experience and Education

  • Post secondary education
  • 2+ years of software training, business analysis, or relevant IT experience.
  • Previous experience with local government is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in a technology-related discipline or equivalent work experience is an asset.
  • Adult education and/or software implementation experience are assets.

Competencies and Skills

  • Outstanding oral and written skills and telephone manner are required
  • Experience instructing in a small class setting with varying degrees of technical proficiency.
  • An understanding of database (installed and web-based) applications is an asset.
  • Experience with MS SQL Reporting Services (or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Background in adult education/training methodologies is an asset
