Job Summary: 

Our client is looking for a UX/UI Developer to fill a role in Victoria BC. The right person for this position is competent developing client-side web solutions anchored on a server side ASP.Net/MVC implementation.  An existing enterprise application requires targeted UX and performance improvements as well as new feature development.  The position is available to be filled as soon as we find the right person.

Ideal Candidate

To be successful at this position you need (at a minimum) to meet these requirements:

  • You must be legally and physically able to work on-site in Victoria BC, Canada.

  1. HTML/CSS/JavaScript and corresponding tools and libraries
  2. Design and Implement real world solutions to UX problems
  3. Drive solutions from inception to release

  • You are comfortable working in a professional enterprise software development environment.
  • You have experience in the field.  This is not an entry level position.

  • You know the answer to “are you a ninja or a pirate?” without thinking about it.

This is a fulltime contract position with long term extension potential.

Responsibilities

  • Apply UX design principles to address complex design problems and provide sound solutions
  • Contribute to a code library of reusable patterns & functional modules using HTML5/CSS3/JQuery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional design, product and technology teams to create compelling user experiences
  • Help streamline the software development process by creating re-usable templates and components
  • Keep yourself, the rest of the team, and stakeholders around the company abreast of the latest design techniques/trends/ideas that could provide value for our customers

Required Skills

  • 4+ years UX design / software development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Software Development or related discipline / equivalent work experience
  • Advanced skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and ASP.Net
  • Solid understanding of Agile development process
  • Fundamental page layout and design sensibilities
  • Strong understanding of human-centered design methods
  • Interaction design experience for web applications and sites
  • Strong visual design skills (layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, patterns)
  • Skilled in the development of mobile applications and sites
  • Expertise in modern design tools including Photoshop
  • Expertise in cross-browser implementation
  • Comfortable working on highly technical product teams
  • Comfortable working with rapidly changing requirements
  • Knowledge of, and a desire to keep current on, industry trends and best practices
  • Rapid prototyping experience is a plus
  • Fanatical attention to detail (we are not kidding!)
