Job Summary: 

The Senior Business Systems Analyst manages the design, development and enhancement of Pension Corporation applications, systems and services and works with senior business analysts to ensure that business requirements are met. This position works with the clients and business analysts to verify business requirements and ensure that a thorough functional analysis is conducted. The position is also responsible for conducting in-depth traceability analysis in order to produce impact assessments and resource estimates. The position is frequently called upon to lead projects. The position also supervises, on a formal and informal basis, Junior and Intermediate Business Systems Analysts through the process of requirements analysis and building application design specifications.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT organization responsible for COTS, SaaS and custom software development; OR
  • Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline and 4 years related experience; OR
  • Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline and 5 years related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and 6 year’s practical experience.
  • 3-6 years of experience is required in a mixed business and IT technical team including applying analytical and problem solving skills, and using business process models and data models.
  • A minimum of 2 years in an intermediate analyst role including:
    • Developing business systems/functional specifications for large custom applications/systems;
    • Delivering systems enhancement and maintenance activities within demanding timelines; and
    • Working with change management.
  • Pension industry, pension plan and pension administration application experience.
  • Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements/functional specifications.
