The successful applicant would ideally be based in Victoria, BC co-located with key senior executives, but remote work in US or Canada is possible.  Relocation assistance is available.

Job Summary: 

Duties to include (but not limited to):

  • Interface with technical experts at customers to identify new opportunities based on both evolution of existing products or entirely new products
  • Help to shape, articulate, and implement the company’s technology vision and future
  • Act as a technical leader during new product conception working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Business Development groups. This includes business case development and evaluation, detailed product requirements definition and high level system design
  • Work in close consultation with Research and Development to ensure that new projects are properly initiated with product architecture, manufacturing cost targets and clearly defined product requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science with five or more years directly related experience

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be detail oriented, highly motivated and have the ability to work in a highly collaborative and innovative environment
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with L1-L3 network protocols and architectures for service provider networks
  • Experience designing and deploying DOCSIS, PacketCable, PON, public Wi-Fi and other access technologies used by cable operators
  • Experience with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, IPv6 and MPLS
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN support and engineering design for voice, data and video networks at Access, Aggregation and Core network locations
  • Familiarity with Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) standards, certification and deployments
  • Familiarity with Open Network (SDN, NFV) concepts, goals and evolutionary track
