Job Summary:

Do you dream about modular single-page web applications, reusable UI components, REST APIs, client-side MVC and MVVM frameworks, data-binding, and extensible front-end architectures? Do you enjoy solving hard problems at the forefront of web development and relaxing with friends and colleagues on a private patio overlooking Victoria's beautiful Inner Harbour?

If so, Latitude Geographics is looking for you. We're looking for seasoned web and mobile developers with experience building and maintaining single-page HTML5 and JavaScript applications and creating and working with powerful REST APIs. High level knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 is a must, but our ideal candidate is passionate about development in general and flexible enough to thrive in a variety of programming environments and technology stacks.

Knowledge of modern client-side application development principles is required, and experience with frameworks like Angular or KnockoutJs is a bonus, as is experience building native Android and iOS applications. Awareness and understanding of shifting web standards and emerging technologies and languages like TypeScript are bonuses as well.

Depending on ability and experience, duties may include:

  • Software product development, which involves research and analysis, product design, coding, bug verification, release testing, and beta support
  • Some business analysis and technical writing
  • Some server/network administration and troubleshooting


  • Substantial web development experience, including experience building and maintaining client-side JavaScript/HTML5 applications
  • Outstanding programming capabilities and excellent communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of source control systems such as SVN or Git
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux-based server technologies
