MYRA is seeking a Full-time permanent position for an Engagement Specialist. The successful candidate will be an experienced writer possessing a background in grant or proposal writing. Preference will be given to candidates with a technology background. The successful candidate must be able to participate in all proposal activities, technical writing requirements, manage proposal schedules and deadlines, develop proposal outlines and compliance metrics, and manage all parties contributing to the proposal lifecycle. This person must have experience with or have first hand knowledge of how to respond to public sector Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Job Summary: 

Mandatory requirements and experience for this position include:

  • Work with the MYRA team to manage and direct our proposal efforts, including formal RFP/bid requirements
  • Participate in the development and review of proposal strategies and themes
  • Assist in analyzing the Request for Proposal (RFP)/bid requirements against the proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to the customer’s issues and needs
  • Be able to independently conduct regular proposal progress status meetings and maintain the proposal schedule
  • Work with the Business Development and Executive teams to allocate proposal related work assignments, coordinate Team evaluations and approval of the technical, management, and overall proposal approaches through the response process
  • Direct writing/editing/rewriting efforts, as needed, per outcome of various team review and progress levels
  • Review completed proposal sections to ensure requirements are adequately addressed
  • Collaborate with others on the Business Development team and all of the MYRA practice areas to understand the strategy for the specific customer
  • Actively manage the RFP response by utilizing project management competencies
  • Draft proposal documents by gathering information from multiple inputs, and synthesizing into meaningful and winning responses to RFP/RFQ’s that aligns with the sales strategy and meets customers’ needs
  • Possess a working knowledge of the business and value proposition of each offering and be able to, in writing, articulate MYRA’s strengths in meeting our Customer’s requirements
  • Engage with other functional areas within MYRA to develop standard and non-standard responses to common proposal issues and maintain a database of possible proposal language
  • Continue to improve the proposal process and outputs by seeking out and leveraging best practices from internal business partners and external organizations
  • A university degree and/or equivalent education/experience
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written English skills
  • Expertise using office productivity tools such as MS Word, Project, Visio and Excel

Additionally this position requires Project Management, Business Analysis and/or Service Delivery Management experience and capabilities.

Some of these requirements include:

  • Experience with project planning: scope definition, resource and task management, status reporting, communications and implementation
  • Experience facilitating multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience managing service delivery contracts and customer relationships and acting as liaison with stakeholders
  • Experience managing meetings, preparing meeting minutes and reports
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Further duties may include standard office administration oversight including supplies management and ordering
