Job Summary: 

The role…

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Technical Documentation Supervisor to lead the development, publishing, and distribution of our product technical documentation. This is a superb opportunity for a stellar project manager who is skilled at taking complex technical information and relaying it in plain language clearly, concisely, and accurately. This is a key role within our marketing department, as our ability to communicate technical information quickly and accurately to our dealers and end users is essential to meeting our goal of earning and sustaining the most satisfied customers in our industry.

What you’ll do…

Working individually and collaboratively, you will manage the lifecycle of our product technical documentation, including user guides, installation manuals, sales catalog sheets, engineering submittal sheets, online help, application notices, bulletins, and FAQs. You will create and maintain documentation project plans and publication schedules, department metrics, and a state-of-the-art system for electronic sign-off, storage, and back-up of all published documents. With a clear understanding of the business both procedurally and systematically, you will ensure that new and existing documentation complies with department standards and style guides, while also driving improvements in efficiency, structure, format, and content. Working with a variety of cross functional departments, including R&D, QA, Operations, Marketing, and Administration, you will provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to technical documentation staff.

Our ideal candidate will possess…

  • BA or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years creating technical documentation for a high-tech. company
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Project management experience and some supervisory experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe FrameMaker and Microsoft Office

And as a bonus have…

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Experience with InDesign, and other desktop publishing tools
  • Knowledge and passion for the building automation industry
