FTS is looking for a Project Manager to join their growing team of professionals who enjoy the qualities of a first-class work environment and colleagues who take tremendous pride and joy in the outstanding work they do. 

The Project Manager leads products through their complete lifecycle, working closely with the Director of Product Development, the Sales and Marketing teams, and customers.  This position oversees the project management process and provides guidance and approves all product elements that contribute to the customer’s experience with FTS.

The ideal candidate will bring an Engineering Degree with equivalent and demonstrable experience; at least five years recent, related experience ideally in hardware and software product or project management; demonstrated technical project management experience (PMP preferred); and plenty of experience managing clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. 

The right candidate will be knowledgeable in hardware, software, user interface and wireless technology, and will be willing to travel to customer and non‐customer sites in North America and other international destinations (up to 25%).  Formal product management training would be a bonus, as would fluency in another language, ideally Spanish.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages major projects, including for example, the complete product lifecycle, from new product introduction (NPI) to end of life (EoL).
  • Develops and gains approval on each new product’s definition, market position and business case ensuring the quality and completeness of requirements before product development begins.
  • Manages adherence to requirements as development progresses, making strategic trade-offs and prioritization decisions that are within product & milestone scope.
  • Creates, communicates and manages launch plans with input from key stakeholders to ensure the successful launch of products that meet business needs.
  • Drives the product launch, as a component of the release plan, regularly reporting on status to key stakeholders.
  • Provides the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product. Ensures that promotional material and sales tools are being used optimally.
  • Ensures accurate customer consumable documentation is produced for each new product or version.
  • Gathers, proposes and delivers product enhancements that increase revenue, customer satisfaction and improve competitive position.
  • Designs market research projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions. Works closely with customers, prospects and partners to understand their challenges and create detailed use cases and opportunity reports.
  • Continually reviews broader market to ensure that the company is kept up to date on new developments in the competitive landscape.
  • Analyzes emerging market, product, competitive, technology and service trends and utilizes the insights to recommend strategic actions and maintain long term roadmaps.
  • Provides day-to‐day guidance on tactical objectives to other teams including quick, just‐in‐time decisions.
