Job Summary: 

The role…

We are seeking a creative and passionate firmware developer to join our team in developing innovative firmware solutions for our suite of 32-bit RTOS based products. This is a superb opportunity to work with the latest technologies, get hands-on with the product and to work for a great company whose pioneering building technologies help to decrease environmental impact.

What you’ll do…

Working individually and as part of the team, your main objective will be to design, develop and maintain firmware. Day-to-day you'll cross-compile and debug for several embedded targets using the latest Eclipse-based IDEs, analyze proprietary and open standard (BACnet) protocol communications using Wireshark and work hands-on with electronics hardware and test equipment. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will also assist with technical support and documentation as per the firmware coding standard and style guide. This is a great opportunity for a motivated self-starter who's a pro at solving problems in a team-based environment.

Our ideal candidate will possess…

  • Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience developing C firmware
  • Ability to analyze problems, diagnose root cause and apply corrective actions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

And as a bonus have…

  • Practice with debugging embedded systems: JTAG, oscilloscope, multimeter, Wireshark
  • Understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems
  • Familiarity with Version Control Systems
  • Knowledge of the building automation industry
  • Extra Bonus: Ability to run a sub 50 10K
