Looking for a new opportunity within a fast-paced rapidly growing local tech company? We are looking for a Software Engineer to research and build our services to grow our mobile advertising real-time bidding systems. We pride ourselves on being a tight-knit, hard working crew whose mission is to build advertising technology that media buyers love.  The Software Engineer will be a super high performer, stable (solid like a rock stable) and be a part of our pioneering tech team that builds supports and systems to currently handle over 350,000 requests per second with response times under 50ms.

Job Summary: 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable backend systems using Python, Nginx (Lua), Redis and PostgreSQL
  • Build fast and stable systems that solve tough architectural and scaling issues
  • Assist tech and business teams in gathering and refining product requirements
  • Build, deploy, monitor and refine systems in an agile DevOps-driven environment

From prototyping to deployment, you'll be responsible for each step of the process. You'll be working on innovative projects we haven’t even dreamed of yet, and generally making sure our clients are getting the best experience in the industry. This is a great opportunity to work side by side with some of the biggest innovators in the mobile advertising industry.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years experience building scalable and stable back-end systems
  • Proven project experience developing with Python
  • Demonstrable experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis
  • Prior experience writing software in Lua, Ruby, Go, Node JS or Java an asset
  • Familiarity with the Amazon Web Services stack (EC2, EMR, S3, Redshift) an asset
  • Interest and knowledge in machine learning and data science is a plus
  • Ability to work in an iterative, agile and test-driven environment
  • Skilled in troubleshooting defects and performance issues of systems at scale
  • Comfortable with working in a fast-paced, startup environment – taking ownership and initiative is a must.  We’re not going to micromanage you.
