Job Summary: 

The Opportunity: Manager, Project Management Office

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Manager, Project Management Office (MPMO) is responsible for undertaking the project management of enterprise or departmental IT initiatives within the Information Technology department. The position will also mentor IT staff in planning and delivering all aspects of small to large size projects (IT) within scope, time, budget, and quality commitments.

The MPMO will be responsible for all policies and procedures pertaining to IT project management.  These must be established and/or reviewed collaboratively with IT management.  S/he must ensure ongoing education of policies and procedures among staff and enforcement of policies and procedures on all projects.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited institution;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) credential from the Project Management Institute, or equivalent qualification in project management;
  • Advanced knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management;
  • Ten years or more of progressively advancing experience in IT project management roles; at least five years of progressive managerial experience; three or more years of hands-on design and planning experience addressing large scale integration challenges; two or more years in managing a project portfolio and managing and developing project managers;
  • Excellent understanding of the unique business drivers, which include problems, opportunities and constraints associated with systems and processes supporting the delivery of higher education;
  • Ability to train, motivate, and inspire teams; and
  • Ability to transition effortlessly from planning to hands-on execution as required.
