Company Overview:

At Pretio Interactive we think there’s a better way for advertisers to reach consumers than stuffing more ads online. We also think publishers should be rewarding users for being active on their favorite games, apps, and websites. Pretio was started to solve this.  We are leading the way in the adtech space, connecting millions of people with the world’s greatest brands in apps and games.

Imagine earning free Starbucks coffee for getting the top score in a game, or getting a song download from Live Nation for finishing your workout.  Both are real examples that Pretio powers.

Job Summary:

In addition, you will be reviewing the architecture of the system and developing plans for short-term and long-term improvements and optimizations based on industry best practices and newer technologies.

  • Profiling code for memory and data usage
  • Optimizing API throughput and improving scalability of the system
  • Automated testing
  • Version control with Git

What you need to get the job done:

  • Designing and implementing web services and APIs
  • Working with relational databases and in-memory caching systems
  • Writing automated tests and practicing test-driven development
  • Familiarity with front-end web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with distributed version control systems (we use git)
  • Self-starter
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage time and resources effectively
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, written and verbal) fluent in English
  • Positive attitude

We would like to see (but not required):

  • A post-secondary degree and are available for full time employment
  • Industry experience building modern web applications in a Ruby stack

  • Experience with deploying web applications in cloud environments (specifically AWS)
  • Scaling a web service to meet high throughput and low latency requirements
  • You've worked on projects in the advertising industry before, especially Real-Time Bidding (RTB) systems
  • Integrating mobile apps and/or SDKs with web services
  • Worked on or led a community based Open Source project
  • Projects that demonstrate your experience working with third-party APIs

The rewards of working with us:

  • We are a happy bunch of people excited to be coming to work every day.
  • Competitive salary and stock option plan
  • Flexible hours (and working with people who get things done, not just punch the clock)
