Advanced Solutions provides a broad range of services to the province of British Columbia. Currently Advanced Solutions provides Infrastructure Hosting services to the Ministry of Citizen Services as well as Revenue and Information Technology services to the Ministry of Finance.

HP Advanced Solutions (HPAS), Application & Process Support Services department is responsible for maintaining the business systems for the Revenue Programs Division of the Ministry of Finance. They provide service for all Revenue Programs Division business applications; many considered mission critical government applications; used by ~1,000 ministry users in multiple locations around the province and the general public accessing government information.

Job Summary: 


Under the general direction of the Team Lead, Application Operations, as the System Analyst you are responsible for applying business area and system knowledge to maintain and improve the many Applications that HP Advanced Solutions supports. You will be responsible for supporting small & simple to large & complex applications where in-depth troubleshooting is required. You will determine where a problem may lie through advanced troubleshooting, workflow replication (to re-create the problem), event log deciphering, etc. You will provide daily support for internal and client users on site-specific and leveraged applications, working closely with both internal stakeholders and client business areas. You will take end to end ownership of the task assigned such as an incident ticket until a proper hand-over to another team as per the defined processes. You will need to coordinate various technical or development teams to ensure the solution is found and implemented successfully. ·         Degree or Diploma in a related field (e.g. computing science, business)

·         Minimum 5 years work experience supporting Windows, UNIX, and IBM Mainframe (MVS) environments

·         Experience in troubleshooting and problem resolution or related field

·         Minimum 1 year experiences in application management environment under ITIL framework. ITIL certification preferred.

·         Experience working within a System Development Life Cycle methodology
