Job Summary: 

Position Summary

The primary function of the Professional Services Director is to ensure the timely and profitable completion of the implementation projects within the division by providing leadership and assistance throughout the Professional Services Organization.  This position reports to the VP of Business Operations. The PS Director is expected to develop relationships with Customers, mentor members of the PS team, and interact regularly with the R&D, Sales and Support organizations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the PS team resources, measure performance, ensure all staff maintain high levels of service.
  • Establish clear, measurable objectives for the PS Team.  Monitor and measure these objectives regularly, providing coaching and discipline as required.
  • Monitor the overall performance of the department by tracking and analyzing utilization and billability, providing standard reporting to the executive Management Team.
  • Providing rolling 12 month revenue and cost forecasts.
  • Performance reviews.
  • Departmental structure, including employee hiring and terminations.
  • Proactive customer follow up, communication and issue management.  Ensure contractual obligations are met and a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Departmental planning and scheduling to ensure adequate project staffing.
  • Delivery of $2,000,000 in annual Professional Services Revenue.
  • Oversee change orders on projects and directly sell certain services back to base.
  • Maintain, adjust and improve the three implementation delivery methodologies.
  • Identify and roll out new processes where needed.
  • Develop relationships with problem customers, strengthen existing relationships.
  • Participate in annual User Conference and Regional User Groups, as required.
  • Sales assistance with RFP responses and short-list demos, as required.
  • Travel, as required.

Competencies and Skills

  • Three or more years of direct management experience in Professional Services.
  • Five years or more experience in a Professional Services organization.
  • Experience managing groups of 10 people or more.
  • Responsibility for $2M or more in annual service revenues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and lead a team of services individuals.
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical thinking to resolve issues.
  • Strong Project Management skills (PMP certification is considered an asset).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Project.
  • Knowledge of database query tools and relational database applications.
  • Intimate knowledge of business process applications.
  • Post-secondary Degree in an applicable discipline.
