Carmanah is looking for a Product Manager to join or team!  Reporting to the Manager of Product Management, the Product Manager is responsible for defining and managing the entire product lifecycle of one or more market verticals.  The successful candidate will identify market needs and technology directions and then translate these into products with compelling value.  S/he will maintain customer relationships, collaborate with all internal teams, and ensure that the product and marketing efforts support corporate goals.

Job Summary: 

General Description and Responsibilities

  • Develop multi-year product roadmaps informed by a keen understanding of our markets and customers.
  • Create product requirements, corporate buy-in, and coordinate development with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong communication with the delivery network, business partners, and customers about products, roadmaps, competition, and trends.
  • Synthesize competitive information and market analysis to ensure products are well-positioned in the market.
  • Communicate to external and internal groups via training presentations and webinars.
  • Manage product pricing, as well as input project and product costs and timeline.
  • Own the product lines throughout the entire lifecycle:  concept, steering development, launch, sustaining, and finally deciding to replace or end.
  • Understand technology trends, value-add opportunities and constraints; accelerate new product introductions where possible.
  • Propose modifications to existing products so as to enter new markets or increase market value.
  • Coordinate with marketing new product introductions, sales support, and customer documentation including website, manual content, and sales collateral.

Skills and Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in a product management and marketing environment.
  • Degree in engineering, marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking to large groups.
  • Experience with technical products such as electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Strong project management and communication skills to drive and coordinate a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong level of product knowledge, market environment, and competitive analysis
  • Proven ability to convey value to marketing and sales teams to coordinate effective marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated history of being results-oriented, working under pressure, and balancing and managing multiple priorities.
  • Thorough documentation skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
