We are currently searching for a Desktop & Infrastructure Specialist in our Victoria office. Our WBU Desktop team provides multiple opportunities to be involved with projects integrating the WBU infrastructure into the overall organizational structure along with opportunities to work on various upcoming projects and roll-outs.

In this role you will provide local support to the Victoria office looking after infrastructure including Desktop, Network and Servers in an evolving environment. You will work directly with end-users and clients and collaboratively with teams from across the country! You will spend about 60% of your time focused on the Desktop domain and 40% in the Server & Network domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and handle Incident and Service Request tickets, as well as special projects involving both hardware and software support
  • Analysis and troubleshooting of complex problems with local and centralized teams and implement solutions
  • Installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance and upgrading of PC & Server software & equipment and networking equipment
  • Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required
  • Deliver effective communication with clients
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and professionalism at all times while working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with minimum supervision
  • Participate in various projects such as Technical Planning and Deployment
  • Writing and Maintaining Documentation and client FAQs
  • Working proactively to make sure insure that services delivery are in lined with the evolution of the client need and the evolution of his technical environment

Key Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in the administration, support and management of Intel based desktops / laptops, peripheral hardware, Windows servers and enterprise networking equipment
  • Experience in a Desktop support environment with Windows XP, Windows 7, Symantec Anti-Virus and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server OS’, virtual environments such as VMWare or Hyper-V
  • Experience with networking; Cisco switches and firewalls
  • Knowledge of telephony / VoIP / Teleconferencing and mobility devices (smart phones / tablets)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Post-Secondary Education in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience

  • ITIL certification is an asset
  • MCP / MCSA / MCSE / MCDST / A+ certifications are an asset
  • Experience with Windows 8 and/or Apple/Mac products is an asset
