About the Opportunity BC Assessment is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join its dynamic and progressive Information Technology Services (ITS) in Victoria.

The Business Analyst is a professional position that provides Information Management and Information Technology (IMIT) planning, business analysis, solution design, implementation support and client support services for BC Assessment program areas. You will facilitate the design, development and implementation process for technology solutions and new information products and coordinate the implementation, quality assurance and testing of systems.

The Business Analyst will use innovation and judgment to translate business needs into effective and responsive systems and provides related advice and support to senior management. This position may provide guidance to assigned staff in the delivery of products and services to BCA customers.

In your first year, you can look forward to:

  • Creating test plans and coordinating testing efforts;
  • Documenting current services and associated service levels for each and developing service level documentation if none exists;
  • Analyzing and reporting on Service level metrics.

Job Requirements:


  • University degree in computer science, systems business analysis, information management, and software engineering, finance, business administration or equivalent.
  • Completion of the business analyst certificate or equivalent.
  • Completion of some project management courses


  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience as a business analyst in a complex organization.
  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience in conducting complex business analysis, developing detailed business cases and flow diagrams, and identifying and documenting client and user needs.
  • Experience in an appraisal organization or local government would be an asset.
  • Experience in a customer service delivery organization would be an asset.
