Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Information Technology Director, the Systems and Compliance Administrator is responsible for administering, documenting, and securing all corporate IT assets. This role is also responsible, with participation from the IT Director and operations team, for ensuring documentation, policies, and procedures are in place and up to date to ensure PCI-DSS compliancy. The role will manage the IT infrastructure in an always-on global environment. The ideal candidate will champion and assist the development team with recommendations on best practices; possessing a fun, positive and energetic attitude with ability to think quickly and solve complex technical problems.

Duties and Responsibilities

40% - Information Security and Compliance – Participate in Qualitative Risk Analysis, Vulnerability Scans and Penetration Testing, and the Risk Management Workflow process to identify, evaluate and document network, systems and business security vulnerabilities. Work independently and collaboratively in equal measure with the members of the technology team. Participate in compliancy audit preparation and assessments. Make recommendations and implement improvements to systems, policies, and procedures to ensure continued PCI-DSS compliancy.

30% - Desktop Support – Respond to and address all assigned support tickets promptly and courteously. Work independently and collaboratively in equal measure with the members of the technology team. Assist in maintaining desktop systems and other Information Technology assets. Proactively look for opportunities to improve IT Technology solutions to address business needs. Contribute to and help maintain the IT documentation repository.

30% - Operations and Dev-Ops - Respond to and address all assigned support tickets promptly and courteously. Work independently and collaboratively in equal measure with the members of the technology team. Participate in the rotating on-call roster. Assist in maintaining production and development environments. Automate key deployment and maintenance tasks, with the goal being zero manual configuration and no snowflake systems. Improve system availability while keeping costs low. 

Education and Experience

  • Post –Secondary degree / diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years minimum experience with LAMP infrastructures
  • Prefer one or more certifications such as Security+, SSCP, Network+, or MCITP
  • Expert MySQL administrator
  • Expert Linux administrator
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc
  • Strong understanding of security concepts, best practices
  • Experience working in PCI-DSS or other regulated environment 
  • Experience planning, implementation and using network / system monitoring technologies.
  • A strong desire to learn the new and interesting in the technology space.  

Success Factors

  • Ensure policies, procedures, and documentation is PCI-DSS compliant, and we continue to maintain our PCI certification
  • Identification and elimination of root-causes for previously occurring system issues.
  • Improved system stability and availability while keeping costs under control.
  • Automation of all key deployment, maintenance, and monitoring tasks

  • Ability to perform duties without immediate supervision, to exercise sound judgment and the ability to communicate with all levels of the staff and the public.
  • Ability to learn assigned tasks and new procedures quickly and the ability to interpret accounting / financial policy.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and work effectively within established deadlines.
