Job Summary: 

We have a great opportunity for a seasoned Field Application Engineer who excels at providing high quality technical support from various locations.

Do you have an impressive background in electronic system integration and a demonstrated level of excellence in customer support for technical products?  Are you a strong communicator in both English and Spanish, and an excellent problem solver with a hands-on technical background?  Are you interested in the opportunity to travel to a variety of international locations to assist customers with installations and monitoring?  If so, we would like to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a key system integration and application resource for technical support and customer service
  • Develop solutions to technical problems with both FTS and customer-supplied equipment
  • Provide site-specific troubleshooting for complex and various applications
  • Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, and provide demonstrations when required
  • Provide both hardware and software technical support in the field
  • Create clear and detailed application documentation for internal and external users

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Engineering degree or Electronics Technologist qualification or equivalent with experience in electronic system integration and sensor application work
  • Hands-on field experience in cellular or sensor installation, configuration, field calibrations and troubleshooting
  • Experience collaborating with customers in a technical support role
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills with an ability to analyze options to provide the best solution
  • Self-motivated - must be able to work independently with little or no supervision/instruction
  • Ability to travel to remote international locations
  • Excellent English verbal and written technical communication skills
  • Ability to provide technical communications for customers in Spanish, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge or training in ISO9001 based quality management systems is an asset
