About Cloud Practice:
Hundreds of medical practices all across Canada rely on Cloud Practice for the deployment, hosting and support of their billing, scheduling and electronic medical records (EMR) software.
Located in beautiful downtown Victoria, we believe in providing a work environment that you can enjoy and be proud of, and one that can bring out the best in our small but growing team. Cloud Practice has a casual and friendly work atmosphere with all of the cliché fixings of a new tech start-up (Free lunch Tuesdays, Foosball, Beer o'clock Friday, etc.).
As a junior software developer you will be working with our OscarHost EMR product, for which you will be providing technical support in the form of bug fixes, building small features, as well as completing data migrations for clients moving to our software from other competing products. OSCAR, the application you will be supporting, is a large Java application running a MySQL database in a CentOS Linux environment.
During the life cycle of a bug fix or new feature you will be expected to write Java code, compile, test and deploy the updated application in a development environment. Data migrations require a variety of data manipulation tools as well as the building of Python/Ruby/Bash scripts. All of this will be done in a Linux environment. You will be working under the supervision of a senior developer who will review your work, answer your questions, and give you feedback.
