About the Opportunity

The Human Resources Information Systems Analyst manages BC Assessment’s Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), ensuring all people systems and technology needs of the business are being met.  You will design processes to foster efficiency, accuracy, service delivery and enhanced end-user experience; and develop reporting and analytics on people information for the organization.  

In your first year, you can look forward to: 

  • Reviewing system needs, researching options and making recommendations for the development of new tools or upgrades.
  • Working with IT professionals to document HR business requirements.
  • Performing a gap analysis and cost benefit analysis between existing and new systems/processes to align with best practices.
  • Assist with the development of an HR Technology Strategy for BCA.

Job Requirements:


  • Diploma in human resources, business administration or information systems.
  • Certification as an HR Information Professional is preferred.   


  • Four years of experience leading HRIS administration and analysis.
  • Experience leading projects and implementing business process improvements.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment would be preferred.

Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  


  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information systems and related development, enhancement and support practices, techniques and methods.
  • HR practices, processes and tools related to on-boarding, recruitment and selection, job evaluation and compensation, training and development, information systems and records management.


  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC applications (Excel, Word and Outlook) and databases.
  • Skill in the operation of an in-house computerized HR system.
  • Project management skills to complete projects on time and on budget. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 


  • Coordinate, organize and prioritize multiple tasks and services.
  • Research, analyze and effectively present HR information.
  • Interpret collective agreement requirements and HR policies and procedures into HR systems.
  • Build and maintain positive working relations.
  • Deal with sensitive information and preserve confidentiality.
  • Take initiative in identifying issues and recommending solutions.
  • Communicate effectively, listen, and accurately assess situations.
