The Communications team delivers communication services and products across the organization to raise the national and international profile and brand recognition for ONC and its sub-brands in line with the overall vision, mission, and strategic goals, and Annual Program Plan. The team is responsible for consistent and clear messaging across a host of creative communications mediums and marketing products and services to promote ONC’s unique capabilities—across all divisions of policy and governance, science, innovation, and learning and engagement—to a host of key audiences and stakeholders.

Job Summary: 

Maternity Leave Term Position: Starting September 2015

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Social Media Lead reports to the Communications & Marketing Manager and works as part of a highly integrated communications team. The position is responsible for maintaining and growing ONC’s on-line social media presence and engagement. Priorities include: creation and maintenance of high-profile channel accounts; research emerging trends and technologies; develop content; follow, monitor and engage in conversations; manage viral marketing campaigns; measure impact, report analytics, and make recommendations to extend reach across audiences and stakeholders; work across ONC to cultivate leads and ensure social media standards, policies and rules of engagement are followed.  Additional tasks include: core conference support; media monitoring; maintenance of the website and iContact email marketing system; and creation and circulation of a weekly internal bulletin.

Qualifications:

A relevant Degree with concentration in a relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education and a minimum 3 years working experience.

Strong knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms

Note: A science background is not a pre-requisite but a passion for the advancement of scientific knowledge and understanding is.
